The presentation will introduce the development of The Glycemia Risk Index (GRI), a composite metric for describing the quality of glycemia in CGM tracings. This metric is based on the opinions of 330 experienced clinicians from all six continents who reviewed 225 tracings of insulin-using adults. Each CGM was deconstructed into the seven key AGP metrics. A model was created to best fit these opinions. GRI emphasizes hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia exposure and generates a single score, plotted on a grid that expresses the two exposures. The GRI can be useful to follow an individual patient over time or a group of patients in a population health paradigm.
