The roles of DCESs are evolving and the impact of advanced technology can improve diabetes management. Most clinics and hospitals need a diabetes technology specialist to stay up to date on all the new technologies for persons with diabetes, to work collaboratively with persons and families impacted by diabetes that would potentially benefit from new technologies and to help train providers and staff on available technologies. In this session, we will examine how to position the DCES as the technology expert and provide examples of working in a small practice, group practice and smaller hospital setting.
