Let’s face it, telling people with diabetes what to do isn’t enough to motivate them to modify their behavior. If it were, people would have improved outcomes, shorter hospital stays and lower costs associated with their care. Combining smart goals, virtual programs, motivational interviewing, coaching, stages of change along with behavioral strategies are key to achieving desired results. Show that you care about their goals and the difficulties that they face and embrace strategies that lead to long-term success. This session will review how providing messages designed for each person along with better listening skills and body language leads to success.
