Diabetes technology is increasing at warp speed. DCESs play a vital role in educating and training people with diabetes and healthcare providers alike on product functions and limitations. Therapeutic inertia exists and DCESs are part of the problem UNLESS they have access to education sessions that support technology knowledge and processes. DCESs need more information on how to use the Identify, Configure, Collaborate model to decrease therapeutic inertia, and educate people with diabetes and providers. This presentation will highlight that the value of the DCES can be monetized in the device training process and will help attendees understand billing codes to use, when and how to use them. Having this knowledge increases the value of the DCES in primary care, endocrinology and private practice models.
