People with diabetes are at higher risk of complications when illness strikes. Preparing and providing education to patients and caregivers on how to handle times of illness is important in the management of diabetes. This poster will cover signs and symptoms of common illnesses and their impact on diabetes, some common over the counter (OTC) medications to avoid, as well as recommend strategies to help patients prepare for an illness.
