Ginny is currently the Diabetes Innovation Manager at the Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute in Dallas, TX, an affiliate of Baylor Scott and White Health. At her current position, she manages the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Training Program, Diabetes Prevention Program, Weight Loss Surgery Program, Community Health Worker Training program and other programs that serve the community of South Dallas. She has a bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition from Oklahoma State and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Ginny is also a Licensed Professional Counselor, but does not currently practice in that capacity. Ginny has worked in many areas in the field of dietetics including nutrition support, clinical management, sales and marketing, geriatrics, and diabetes education but working with patients towards healthy behavior change is her passion. She is a Master Trainer in Lifestyle Coaching both for the NDPP and the Group Lifestyle Balance Program, and a Community Health Worker Instructor. Ginny also has extensive training in Motivational Interviewing and encourages a culture of MI with her staff. Ginny is the current Chairperson for the AADE Texas Coordinating Body and is the chairperson for the second year for this year’s conference. She is also active in the North Texas Local Networking Group for AADE. Ginny enjoys keeping physically fit through many activities such as cycling, swimming, weight training and Zumba. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, planning activities with her cycling Meet-Up group and networking with other healthcare professionals.
