Despite the availability of highly effective vaccines, hepatitis B remains a significant public health issue in the U.S., especially amongst adults and high-risk populations, such as people with diabetes. Just 16% of people with diabetes in the U.S. are fully vaccinated against hepatitis B. With national and global goals to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030, the successful implementation of updated hepatitis B recommendations is critical. This presentation will explore the updated CDC guidelines for hepatitis B for adults, how they can be utilized to achieve health equity and opportunities for DCESs to address hepatitis B prevention in their communities.
