Insulin pump therapy is a popular treatment modality among children with type 1 diabetes due to the ease of insulin administration. Advancements in technology have increased the complexity of this treatment regimen bringing with them an obligation for clinical care and education specialists to provide the best possible transition. Join this session to learn how our clinic started an insulin pump training program during the pandemic, a time of limited resources for patients and providers. Information on pre-pump expectations as well as follow-up after training will be shared. Case studies will be presented to demonstrate the efficacy of training as well as financial sustainability.
