A state-wide team of DCESs identified the need for consistent and equitable diabetes education in schools. Pediatric specialists within the Virginia Diabetes Council utilized grant funds from Lions Clubs International and initiated a successful e-learning program for nurses and staff involved in the care of children with diabetes.
