Ninety percent of people with diabetes receive their care from primary care providers (PCPs), yet PCPs are often not well versed in the use of diabetes technology such as remote and in-person assessment of glucose data generated from CGMs or BGMs. In addition, PCPs may not be comfortable utilizing data to optimize treatment and improve outcomes. In this presentation, we will discuss how PCPs can partner with DCESs to expand their use of diabetes technology and how DCESs can be the technology champions in primary care. We will explore the current state of diabetes technology use in PCP offices and how technology can be more effectively integrated into primary care practices with support from DCESs.
