Sexual health is an important aspect of our clients’ lives. People with diabetes turn to DCESs for diabetes management guidance in this sensitive area. Changing sexual/gender identities and expanding intimate behaviors and attitudes require DCESs to develop enhanced counseling strategies and a greater understanding of how to approach, support and guide clients and their treatment decisions. This presentation will review today’s dynamic sexual landscape, new definitions and state-of-the-art tech products. It will also provide attendees with a better understanding of how to effectively communicate and demonstrate respect in an ever-changing environment.
