At any given time, about 1/3 of inpatients include diabetes as a primary or secondary problem. Yet, clinical resources for the specialty of diabetes are often two or fewer clinicians per hospital. Making data-driven decisions about where to send those resources is essential to delivering a high standard of care. In this session, we will discuss how to create high-impact data-driven resources such as dashboards, EMR order sets, automated consult lists, integrating patient-managed diabetes data, and more. Most importantly, we discuss how to obtain the hospital resources to make these possible.
