M03 - How Clinicians Can Get Involved in Research: One CDCES' Path

People with diabetes rely on DCESs for effective strategies to achieve healthy nutrition. Questions about what to eat and what not to eat evolve into meal planning, recipes and food preparation. With patient satisfaction and improved outcomes as objectives, DCESs are pressed /compelled to offer programming that people with diabetes value and can be administered economically. Research can be a novel approach in devising, conceiving and developing diabetes care and education that people with diabetes can [and should] expect to enjoy and that supports optimal outcomes. This presentation will guide the audience through one CDCES' experience adding research to clinical practice by way of cooking instruction. It will explore how to use research to provide creative programming that persons with diabetes value.
