Research evidence is mounting for the role of gut health in health and wellness. Conversely, science is also advancing the understanding of the gut microbiome pathophysiology in the dysregulation of glycemia and the onset and progression of prediabetes and T2D. This session will highlight the current science of the gut microbiome and T2D, as well as related terminology for various biotics being researched and used in tandem with a healthy plant-based eating plan to potentially improve clinical outcomes. Additionally, a dietitian expert working across diverse populations will share best practices to assist people to make changes in their food choices and eating habits to improve diabetes care.
