The TODAY study, the largest clinic trial of youth onset T2D, demonstrated over 50% of the cohort failed therapy within 6 years of follow-up. The participants were then followed for an additional 10 years after the initial trial to examine the rates of complications and comorbidities in youth-onset T2D. This session will examine the trends in youth onset diabetes prevalence over the past 20 years, review the progression of youth onset T2D from the TODAY study, and identify the complications that may arise in youth onset T2D.
