Diabetes care in the hospital setting relies on prepared and confident bedside nurses. Bedside nurses, especially new graduate nurses, have limited training in caring for the person with diabetes. How can we as DCESs empower and equip the bedside nurse to handle the complexities of the person with diabetes while in the hospital? This session will explore two hospitals' approaches to training student nurses, new graduate nurses and the diabetes resource nurse team.
