Understanding how to honor a person’s culture while delivering evidence-based care is one way to help improve outcomes. Simply knowing a few things about different cultures is no longer enough. This presentation will provide attendees from all disciplines with a better understanding of how to deliver culturally appropriate care to people in a variety of practice settings. The focus will be on developing a clinician’s toolbox for culturally appropriate care as a way to foster cultural humility. Tools and self-reflection methods for clinicians to account for differences in race, ethnicity and religion will be explored.
